George Miracle Ajanaku Owonikoko

George
George is also two years old, born on March 31, 2003. He is from Liberia in West Africa, but is living with his mother as a refugee in Sierra Leone. As you can see from the photos, he was badly burned on his stomach and hand. He's in constant pain and the wounds have not healed well. His mother Mary is a devoted mother who managed to find someone to help her get on the internet and track down someone who could help her son. We need money to pay for a Liberian passport and then transport George and Mary from Sierra Leone to a neighboring country for a visa appointment at the US Embassy in Guinea. After that, George will be picked up by one of our escorts and be flown to the US for treatment. Since he is burned, we want to buy a seat to be assured he can have more room, rather than be on a "lap baby" ticket. Total estimated expenses: $5000.

Looking at these pictures of George and reading about him brings tears to my eyes. George stayed with my family and I for almost 9 months while he got reconstructive surgery on his hands and some on his stomcah. Thank you to all who helped bring him over here. He was the most amazing little boy I have ever had the chance to meet. He was nothing but a joy and bright shining light in my life. I miss him terribly and would give anything to make sure he is doing well. Thank you all for helping George and for giving me and my family the opportunity to take care of such an incredible boy.
